Sinclair Technologies, together with Zamania consulting, has developed the Smart Medical Image Processing System (SMIPS), the first cloud-based, PACS image management system for ophthalmology. SMIPS exports images acquired from nearly all current, commercially available retinal cameras, OCT and HRT devices to a cloud server in which all images are automatically registered by overlay comparison (along with visual fields).

The viewer (programmed for either iPad or PC) allows the caregiver or authorized consultant, or image processing center, to view images with a unique, overlaid, slider method to observe lesions detected by a variety of devices over time with an expertise that cannot be achieved by viewing the images side-by-side. This System together with the integrated Ocudraw Pro, also developed by Sinclair which allows the person reviewing the images to draw over those images in a layered fashion with a palette of pathologies to quickly annotate what is observed allowing the review of images and the drawings of prior studies to define the quantitative changes.
